With a plastic shell and open-ended insert it's extremely easy to hold. Many toys have no outer case, which can cause them to become extremely difficult to hold if the surface becomes slippery. Unlike others toys with hard outer shells I've encountered this one is reasonably wide and unrestricted, more than big enough to accommodate all but the very largest users. The length is exceptionally long though, far bigger than the average toy, I cannot imagine there's many people who wouldn't fit in this model.
