The arms are held to the base by a very thin piece of plastic. Following the included instructions I pushed the support towards the base compressing the springs in the arms. The instructions said pressure should be exerted until a snap or a click indicating the support is firmly secured to the bars. . I heard a snap but it was the thin piece of plastic that held the arm breaking. This was ~15 minutes after opening the packaging.
